The firm

Marren & Co. began as a two-person practice above a hardware store on Civic Center Way. We never set out to be the largest office in Malibu — we set out to be the one that knows the most about the fewest streets.
That means we still walk properties before we list them, still write our own copy, and still tell clients when a house is priced beyond what the comparables can defend. Sellers occasionally dislike hearing it. They tend to appreciate it ninety days later.
Our buyers come mostly by referral: families trading a city block for a bluff, longtime owners moving one canyon over, and a handful of clients we’ve now represented three times across two decades.
We market each property as a single project rather than a template — original photography, architectural framing, and a distribution plan built around who actually buys on this coast.

Elena began selling homes on the Malibu coast in 2002, when carbon paper was still involved and the surf report still set the showing schedule. Two decades and several hundred closings later, she still previews every listing herself before it reaches a client.
Her practice is built on repeat clients and quiet referrals — families she first helped buy a beach cottage, and later helped sell the estate they built on the bluff above it.
“A brokerage is a promise kept at scale. I’d rather keep it small enough to keep it personal.”

How we work
01
Fewer streets, deeper knowledge
We limit our practice to a narrow stretch of coastline so that every opinion we give is earned — on foot, over years, block by block.
02
Pricing you can defend
A number is only useful if the comparables hold it up. We tell clients what the market will bear, not what they hope to hear.
03
One property, one project
No templates. Each listing gets original photography, architectural framing and a distribution plan built for its actual buyer.
04
Discretion as a default
Many of our transactions never reach the open market. Quiet placement is a service, not a compromise.
